Keep it simple with these five essential questions that will help you take stock of your year, and align to a life that is truly nourishing: body, mind, and soul.
1. Where Am I Now?
Take a moment to reflect on the past months. Celebrate your achievements, big and small, and acknowledge the challenges you’ve overcome. Explore what has brought you joy and fulfillment, whether it’s in your career, relationships, or personal growth. This reflection sets the foundation for your next steps.
2. Where in My Life Do I Feel Resistance?
Make a list of the areas in your life that feel sticky or challenging. Resistance can be an indicator that something isn’t working or aligning with your real desires. No judgement here, just information – so be honest, curious, and open to new opportunities for growth.
3. Where in My Life Do I Feel Flow?
Now write down the aspects of your life that feel effortless and enjoyable. The things that make you lose all sense of time, the activities where you find it easy to focus. These moments of “flow” can indicate that you’re on the right path, aligned with your natural talents and passions.
4. What Does Great Look Like in December?
Thinking ahead to December 2023, what does great look like? Allow yourself to dream and really feel into what would make you feel joyful, balanced, purposeful, and aligned come December.
5. What Goals Ignite My Passion?
Use the previous three questions to identify 3 – 5 goals for the rest of the year – but these need to be goals that light a fire within you! What dreams and aspirations make your heart skip a beat? These goals will be your guiding star as you navigate the remainder of the year.

Accountability is the key to turning intentions into reality. Schedule regular check-ins throughout the year to reassess your goals, realign your priorities, and make any necessary adjustments. Surround yourself with a supportive community of friends, mentors, or colleagues who believe in your journey and can help you stay motivated and inspired.
I really believe that reflection is a keystone habit of a nourishing life. So many of us move through life on autopilot, accepting the things that feel off, going where we’re told we should go, doing things for others and not for ourselves – and it doesn’t have to be that way! July is a good a time as any to hit pause, take a reset, and re-align to that “great” December.
